A little about the cards
A.T.C. (Artist Trading Cards)

ArtistTrading Cards are a fascinating pastime for a
great number of professional artists. The cards are
made on any surface and are always 2-1/2" x 3-1/2", a
size thatf fits into standard baseball card storage
sleeves.
My NOTE***(Hooked CARDS would therefore not be thin enough)
The Artist Trading Card, also known as ATC, has been around for many years. It originated as a way for artists and tradesmen to promote themselves professionally and also as a way for them to share and communicate. Of course, this was much before the Internet.
In 1997 Zunich, Switzerland, M. Vanci Stirnemann revised the idea of the Artist Trading Card. Since then, artists and collectors have been creating and trading. The ATC has become very popular with both artists and hobbyists.

For several years now I ,Judith , have been making ATCs and joined a group to trade.I have been using my own art work . . .drawing . sewing . . cutting. . .pasting and Photoshop . .as a means to learn how to use PHOTOSHOP!!
I have tried to come up with a hooked card that would feel like a thin baseball trading card 2.5 X 3.5 but finally realise that - for me -hooking them is not my medium . . .maybe fine embroidery thread with a punch needle would do it . . .or hook one with NYLONS . . . .but hooking cards with wool just doesn't do it for me.
Check out the info on Rug Hooking Magazine article quiz -they are looking for input and cards. . . . .

HaHaHa, Judith if I tried to hook an ATC it would end up as an ATBall, there is no way I could hook that size. My favorite part of the rug is also the seaweed(no offense dog-lovers)Bye!
ReplyDeleteJudith, I'm so happy to find your blog! I can't imagine using my time to hook up itty bitty cards and then bind them....doesn't really appeal to me, but for some folks it might be just right.
