What a beautiful little JANUARY mat hooked by Peg Irish!!!!
The details are simple but so effective!I dont know if you can see but the words are either hooked higher or they are embroidered on top . . . thus they are raised a bit. The bull rushes are also raised and fuzzie . . . .the ice is wonderful . .
a good example of the use of directional hooking to express a feeling. . .and there is that little chair to rest those sore ankles! Well done Peg!
This little piece is 14 '' X 14'' and was part of the calendar project for the Shelburne Vermont Green Mountains guild rug show in November 2009.
