ARTIST TRADING CARDS - hooked rugs-HOW to FINISH

I have had some requests on how to finish these little mats . . .I am sure there are several ways to do it but I will show here how I did mine . . .Use a fabric glue to seal the edges of your backing so it doesnt unravel . . .you could just cut the backing up close to the hooking . . .
or
fold under and mitre the corners and cover the backs with  a piece of wool . . .which is how I finished mine. The glue seemed stiff at first but they ended up fine . . be sure not to get glue on your wool loops when the edges are sealed as in photo #1 top here . . .
the glue has dried in photo.it will  look white at first as in photo#2.

AFTER the edges have dried . . .on the back put more glue and cut and fold  towards the  back . . .

make sure you cut close to the hooked edge on corners so they fold in and mitre neatly.

Cover the backs with wool fabric, trim  and let the glue dry under something heavy!
