Hooked RUGS 2010 from ILE D'ORLÉANS QUÉBEC

Sainte-Famille, Ile D'Orléans Québec au printemps de 1930Par Françoise Vézina GagnonTechniques: Tapisserie

Ile D'Orleans is a large island  in the middle of the Saint Laurent river  just north of Québec City . . There is a book written, in April 1980, as shown on the left all about the hooking on this island . . .there were many rug hookers there . . . .
now I know of only one,my dear friend Françoise Gagnon who hooks the housees  around the island .The mat above is of the village of St Famille.
I hope you can see the beautiful  painterly way of hooking  that Françoise does . . .her colours are singing . . ..
she will be  part of an exhibition of Ile D'Orléans artisans exhibiting in Vancouver   BC next August  2010 I believe it is . .
they are called "BLEU"
