DIRECTION of HOOKING LINES

3 IDEAS for the DIRECTION of your HOOKING to TAKE . . . .
This  is especially good to use  either of these 2 directions for a  large Background  . . .evwen with one colour of wool it will be more interesting than hooking  just straight LINES!

This higglety piggility type of hooking is easily achieved if one hooks without a frame . . .yes several hookers do this  . . .it gives a beautiful texture !
REMEMBER:NO TWISTING  LOOPS ON THE UNDERNEATH SIDE THOUGH!!!
Whichever method you choose adds greatly to the interest of your rug . . .I find it to be a very fun creative part of the hooking experience!

  1. I sometimes try to start out hooking a background with the C's and S's - I love the look on other peoples rugs. But it doesn't take long for me to fall back into the higglety pigglety form!
