Down by the Sea

Today the SUN is shining finally!after a week of fog and rain . . .rain . .. .and more rain . .. . my  cousins are  sailing home from Halifax  . . .past Peggy's Cove lighthouse as in above . . .I am happy they get one day  of good sailing!

Usually I am not fond of tourist scenes of lighthouses  . . .but the above image caught my eye on an advertisement for something here in Nova Scotia . .. It feels like  stained glass but I think its painted . .. perhaps the pieces of painting canvas are cut out and pasted on a red background causing outlines as in lead on a stain glass piece . . .or red outlines on a hooked rug . . .. I love the simplicity of this piece . . . . .
